World Cup Advertising

This weekend I was watching the World Cup Soccer on television and while I was watching the game I also noticed the advertisements that are surrounding the playing field. I saw that most of the advertising was for either Coca Cola or McDonalds. This is because both companies are big internationally as well.

  1. I also saw an ad for Nike that had the Nike soccer cleat spin around and move throughout the whole field because it was electrical banners surrounding the field. I though it was cool because the shoe kept moving around the stadium.

  2. McDonalds is an international company and I would almost expect them to advertise at such highly watched televised events. However, it is funny to see that McDonalds is advertising at a sports event because this just ads to my post about McDonalds advertising a lady in a yoga position. They seems to be incorporating sports and fitness into the advertising campaign heavily.

  3. After seeing Michael's post I decided to research 2010 Fifa World Cup advertisements. I realized that there are many foreign "Futbol" commercials that are very amusing.

  4. As a soccer Fan and a soccer player, I have been heavily fixated on the World Cup that is currently taking place in South Africa. In addition to McDonalds and Coca Cola, various other companies are sponsoring the World Cup. The Best World Cup commercial ive seen thus far has to be the Nike Write your future commercial. This particular commercial features stars such as Drogba, Cannavaro, Ronaldo, and Rooney.
