In Class Assignment: Pictures of Advertising

I went up and down North Ave and took pictures of some advertisements I knew of before and some I had not seen before. For instance, I never noticed ads in the gas stations by the pumps. I've always noticed the billboard on top of the CVS for Coca-Cola products like Vitamin Water, Diet Coke, etc. Ads I notice all the time are the ones outside bodegas of beer and cigarettes because they're all over the windows. Ads that are outside the window of a store displaying a low price for a product have more effect on me than billboards do. When I see an ad for a lower price I tend to buy that item because I'm already at the store and it's a good deal. When I see a billboard I usually won't go out and buy that item because I don't feel like going out of my way. The only billboards that do catch my eye are tickets for events that I did not know about before.
