Advertising at Stadiums

This weekend I went to a Mets game even though I am a Yankees fan. Since I was going I came up with the idea to take some photos of advertisements. At Citi field (the home of the Mets) there were advertisements all around me. Two of the images of advertising the I photographed are shown here. The first image is of the Pepsi Cola sign. This sign is advertising the seating section called "the Pepsi Porch" but it is also advertising Pepsi as a whole. At citi field, all the soda is a pepsi product. The next image is of the scoreboard with all the advertisements surrounding it. In most ballparks, stadiums or arenas, there are advertisements surrounding the video board. Surrounding the video board at Citi Field are advertisements for Fox News, Goya, Lincoln Mercury, Sharp electronics, and Budwiser. Many companies advertise at ballparks because the fans are at their seats for long periods of time and the advertisements can grab the attention of the fans. For example, since Budwiser is the official beer sponsor of Major League Baseball they have large advertisements at most stadiums including Citi Field.

  1. I like the pictures you put up great shots. The first photo you posted looks as if you was driving while taking it.

  2. I notice they always advertise beer, usually budweiser, at ball parks. I'm from Philadelphia and always go to Citizens Bank Park and our announcer for decades Harry Kalas passed away in 2009, so for the 2009 season there was a sign for him along the outfield wall in memorium. This year though because it's a new season, they replaced it with a Budweiser ad which is a shame because now there's nothing to acknowledge him in the stadium.
