The game developer Ubisoft does this in the same way, only though the video game conference called E3. This event allows developers to show off their upcoming projects, release details, answer questions, provide demos (test drive) and basically grab the attention of their customers. A bad run at E3 could dampen the success of a game, and a good one could propel it to gaming glory. The event also gives the company a chance to interact with its loyal customers and makes them seem more human.

It seems like a great idea to host an event for test driving games and for upcoming projects because I've heard the gaming world can be very expensive and very pressured. Also, test driving allows for the gamers to get a sense of new ideas and get themselves and others excited for new releases and for the gaming company as well.
ReplyDeleteI like this event because it makes Ubisoft interact with their customers or maybe even future customers. Providing demos is a great idea and could help boost the sales of an upcoming game. Answering questions and everything else Ubisoft does during the event is a good way to create a relationship with the customer because they can feel like if they have any questions Ubisoft can answer them.
ReplyDeleteGood post Trevor. I think it is way for them to build relationships for sure. Why is it important for a video game to have a relationship with its customer? What do they learn?
ReplyDeleteI think it's important for a video game to have a relationship with its customer because if you create a bond with the company I feel like it'll help establish a bond with their games because if say your friend made a video game you would play it because of how good a relationship you have with that person. I think Ubisoft can learn directly what gamers want and use that information for their future video games.
ReplyDeleteThe developers can learn a lot about what people enjoyed and look to improve on the things they didn't enjoy. The relationship can keep the customers interested and coming back, and also help themselves by getting their opinion
