  1. In 1980 GEICO proclaimed that they would have 24 hour service 365 days a year. This was a huge interest to people looking for car insurance. Many companies had normal business hours 5 days a week. However, when GEICO announced this they were able to include a much wider range of customers to their market. Over the years GEICO decided that they needed to spice up their advertisements and in 2000 they introduced the Gecko, this little guy had an adorable voice and although some might find him annoying he is hard to ignore. He had catchy phrases and seem quit intelligent compared to those he was talking to. In 2004, GEICO introduced their next campaign and adopted the slogan "its so easy a caveman can do it." This captured peoples attention and people looked forwarded to seeing what how the cavemen would be insulted next. GEICO is always looking for new ways to attract costumer and the numbers will show that they are making the rights moves. Every time someone turns on the television or signs on line, it always seems a GEICO ad is popping up! They have spent a lot of money on their advertisements and have made a conscious effort to make sure their ad are in places where everyone can see them. GEICO is considered to use direct marketing because they are speaking directly to the consumer, they say things like, "hey I have great news for you!" or "GEICO literally hands you an English muffin and butters it with jelly and jam." These commercials are expecting a direct response from the consumers because they are speaking directly to them.
