NBA Draft 2010

This particular photograph was utilized to advertise the NBA draft that took place in Madison Square Garden Last Thursday. These young men photographed were the top selection to players to enter the NBA this year. This event celebrates hard work and dedication to one's craft. These individuals are utilized to advertise basketball and as welll the national basketball association as a whole.

Eat Me!

While Using Facebook, I came across this photograph as my friend's profile picture. I was automatically drawn to the image because of the beautiful woman as well as the title. This form of advertising is using sex and sex appeal to sell fruit. I think this particular photograph would appeal to men more so than women. This photograph makes me want a strawberry in any case.

Last week we spoke about Betty White's comeback and the fact that she is older. Hugh Hefner has been big for a few years now, especially since his show on E!. Because his show changed with girls, his popularity began to decline, but now that he is in this vodka commercial, and his show is coming back, I think his popularity will increase again.

Beach Advertisements

I was at Robert Moses beach this weekend and a plane flew by with an ad for Geico and a picture of a pile of money with a rubber band around it and googley-eyes on top. Under the money it said, "The money you could be saving." I think the ad would have been very successful if people didn't already know the Geico ads and just saw money in the sky with googley-eyes. But because people already know the ad they just ignore it.

Boobies

I saw a bumper sticker on a car that said "boobies" and it got my attention so I had to drive up to it to see what the small print was under it. It was a bumper sticker to spread awareness of Breast Cancer. I thought this was a good bumper sticker because it would get a lot of people's attention and knowing that it's for a cause and not just a joke on the back of someones car would make them remember it.

State Farm Commercial

It's a few girls that sing "like a good neighbor, state farm is there" and then wish for a hot guy etc. afterwards. State Farm has a lot of different commericials, hoping to reel in different demographics for their insurance company which is awesome. This commercial is obviously targeting teenage-young adult females. Although wishing for a hot state farm agent is not possible, it might attract young females to look up information or possibly stalk state farm agents?

Online Advertising

Everyday when I am on sites such as yahoo or lohud I see many advertisements. On Yahoo today, I saw an advertisement for an American Express Credit card. Also, when I went on the journal news site, I saw an advertisement for Iona College Advertising the summer session 2. I like how that you are able to click the advertisement if you want to find out more about the advertisement.
